balance has been something that we’ve come to find to be more difficult to achieve than we previously thought. work and play, chasing dreams and the pressures of money. yet we still find solace in music. we aren’t perfect, we’re still learning. but we want to create and share what we love to do. we love and
appreciate all of our friends and family who are sticking by us and giving us the chance to do just that. between recording vocals for other local artists, to curating sets for our live debut, to finishing up as many songs as possible before the end of 2021, we refuse to fade into the noise… even if we’re still figuring things out.
Needs

Needs is our pop/electronic take on a classic love song. While pop songs are notoriously simplistic and easy on the ear, we also wanted a song that could constitute EDM as well. Musically, Needs was first drafted from a Sad Machine remix we were experimenting with. Sampling some of the piano and harp elements, we flipped the sounds to create the early stage instrumental of Needs. On the other hand, we wanted the lyrics to take on the characteristics of a classic pop song: catchy, repetitive, and easily relatable. But, we also wanted the lyrics to create a visually complex story in the mind of the listener. We wanted them to experience the song audibly, emotionally, and visually all at once without overwhelming the ear. The lyrics simply speak about being infatuated and in love with someone and how it is so different from the feeling of lusting over someone-- a feeling you can't really discern until you have been in love.
Not only are we a music duo, but we have been in a relationship for many years. We started dating when we were in early high school and just discovering the local Las Vegas music scene. Our mutual love for music and the arts is what brought us together and plays a big part in our relationship to this day. The inspiration for Needs stems from our very real experience of finding our "person" and needing them in our life no matter what-- something we were lucky enough to stumble upon early in life and maintain for so long.
We hope you absolutely love Needs and that it reminds you of someone in your life.

'drftn away.' captures the melancholy feeling that we are positive has been shared by the masses throughout these past couple of years on Earth. As the world continues to move forward (and evolve it's capacity for partying harder than ever), there is still a feeling of uncertainty and hopelessness underneath.
Beneath the surface of this groovy and relaxed tune, the repeating lyrics: "I'm drifting away...", emulates the dichotomy between both trying to remain present in life while also keeping a healthy distance from things that we cannot control.
Justin Bieber - Peaches (Fan the Flames Flip)

The 2015-16 classic future bass sound was one of the biggest driving forces behind us starting to make our own music, and we wanted to pay homage to the sounds of that era through this track. Our first real exposure to EDM music and this scene in general was in 2016 when Louis the Child came to the UNR campus, and we saw two dudes just about our age living out our dreams. The inspiration from that moment never left us, and we wanted to call back to that with this remix. The easygoing and relaxed vibes provided by the original 'Peaches' felt like the perfect jumping off point for this kind of sound, so we hope this track inspires you to crack open a cold one, chill out by the pool, and let the summer vibes flow.

After being chosen to take part in Pastel's OMNI livestream festival, we felt inspired by the emotion that our fellow musicians put into their music. Having both just lost grandparents, we took this as a sign to create a piece that could provide a sense of closure to us by sending one last goodbye out into the universe, which is exactly what this track ended up being for us. We hope you will be able to connect with it as much as we did <3

We've always been big fans of Halloween, and we wanted to keep up last year's theme of 'spooks and grooves' somehow! Rather than record a new mix, we decided to create a track that we felt captured the spooky, yet fun essence that October gives off, and we thought who better for that kind of vibe than Billie Eilish.
